Basketball has a language of its own, one that’s built on iconic moments, shared references, and an almost obsessive attention to detail. But with hundreds of brands fighting for attention at every game, how does Chase bring cashbacking to NBA fans without an official partnership?
Rather than interrupting that culture, we wanted Chase Freedom Unlimited to feel like it belonged within it. Partnering with Kevin Hart, Steph Curry and Allen Iverson, we reimagined recognizable basketball moments through a playful cashback lens, creating a campaign that felt instantly familiar to fans while giving the brand a fresh and entertaining voice.
As Senior Art Director, I focused on developing the campaign’s visual language across TV, social, and digital OOH, helping create a cohesive system that could flex across a wide range of executions while staying true to the energy of basketball culture.
Challenge: Basketball fans are deeply immersed in the culture of the game, making it difficult for a financial brand to earn credibility in that space without feeling forced or inauthentic.
Insight: Sports fans don’t just watch basketball, they share a language built around iconic moments, rituals, and inside references that instantly connect them to one another.
Execution: We referenced iconic basketball moments in a campaign that celebrated the culture of the game while introducing Chase Freedom Unlimited in an entertaining and unexpected way.
Role: Senior Art Direction • Visual Development • Campaign Design System • Social Art Direction • Digital OOH

“Look at how we’re talking about finance with Chase. We took one of the biggest [mess ups] of Iverson’s career and found a way to reinvent that moment of old—to talk about finance.”
